WebQuest Taskonomy: A Taskonomy of Tasks
April 2, 2008 by jones88
Can you say that three times fast! The main reason I was interested in reading this article was because I had more than a little fear about going out and creating my own and I was interested in just what it was that I was meant to be creating. WebQuests Taskonomy: A Taskonomy of Tasks was so easy to read through and got me really excited about making my own. For anyone who’s not sure, a WebQuest is a task that is engaging and elicits thinking beyond rote comprehension that can be done through an easily manipulated Internet program. This article made me aware of just how vast and variable WebQuests can be.
Previously I would have just stuck to the basic formula I have seen demonstrated, now I feel really enthused to go out and create something that is unique, useful and adventurous. I thought that the Mystery task sounded challenging to do well but something that I might enjoy since I like creative writing. I also thought that the Design Brief task would be engaging for users and productive. The possibilities are endless! Go have a look and then give it a try!

Dear Penelope,
I am pleased to see that you have visiting your blog more frequently and have managed to make some recent contributions but you still need to make some additional contributions please.
I’m pleased that you’ve taken the time to consider webquests and the qualities they have.
This is one of the challenges for us as educators I think – how do we determine the quality of things such as webquests which have been out in the public domain for us to use. Tom March, has done a lot of work on this – you might like to look at his site http://tommarch.com/learning/
Anyway, great to see you reading around these topics and pleased that you have made some additional postings – hopefully there are more to come!!
